26th Annual Kids Derby
🎣 What an incredible day at the 26th Annual Kids Fishing Derby! 🎉
The turnout was absolutely amazing, with 99 young anglers signing up and reeling in an impressive 285 fish! The fish were definitely biting, and the excitement was nonstop from start to finish.
🐟 The competition was fierce, ending with a tie for Biggest Fish—two incredible 28½-inch carp!
A huge THANK YOU goes out to our generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and hardworking club members whose time and support make this event possible year after year.
Most importantly, thank you to all the kids and families who joined us. Your enthusiasm, smiles, and love of fishing made the 26th Annual Kids Fishing Derby one to remember. We can't wait to see everyone back on the water next year! 🎣💙
Ron VanZile Started the Kid’s Derby in 1999 with eleven kids in attendance. For years Ron and his wife Cecelia worked to grow the derby. The derby did grow thru the years with one hundred- twelve kids (plus parents and siblings) at one derby. The Tioga County Bass Anglers started helping but, Ron and Cecelia were involved every year in all parts of the derby. After twenty-two years they decided to retire.
Think of all the kids (and their families) who were given the experience of fishing and enjoying the great outdoors we have in our area.
